What is Food is Medicine?

FEI’s Food Is Medicine Access Programs

FIM Home

  • Subsidize groceries - including fresh produce - and home delivery

  • Curate foods for specific dietary needs

  • Provide access to culinary and nutrition education

  • Nationwide accessibility

FIM Pantry

  • Increase diversity of nourishing foods available in Kansas City area pantries

  • Educate pantry staff and volunteers to assist pantry patrons with food as medicine choices that meet diet needs

  • Support and enhance nutrition security measures and policies in food pantries

FIM Advocacy

  • Support food as medicine research projects

  • Push for policy changes for improved food access

  • Advocate for traditionally under-represented populations to have just access to food and wellness
