Our Mission

We fight for nutrition security and health equity for all.

Show your support of Food Equality Initiative and the important work we do by making a financial contribution, so together,
we can keep providing and expanding services.

Supply our clients with food; they eat for a year.
Empower them through nutrition education & advocacy, they eat for a lifetime.

Millions of Americans suffer from diet-treated diseases. They need your support.

With support from donors like you, Food Equality Initiative helps educate, advocate, and empower to ensure all are fed.

“After years of complaining of stomach aches and refusing to eat, our 4-year-old son was diagnosed with celiac disease. I was relieved to have a diagnosis, but overnight our food costs tripled.”

Although finding food that met his new dietary requirements was not hard, it was a huge financial burden. Jennifer, a teacher, and her husband, who works in construction, took on extra jobs and
juggled childcare between them to make ends meet.

Her story is not unusual. Food costs for special diets can be twice as expensive as regular food. Food Equality Initiative is a beacon of hope for those struggling with the higher food costs for their diet-treated illnesses. Over the coming months, we’re sharing our story and how we help people like Jennifer navigate the storm of their new diagnosis.

Our 3 Pillars

We facilitate access to safe, healthy, free-from food by subsidizing a direct-to-door grocery delivery service for food insecure individuals and families.

We educate the public through the production of nutritionally focused educational materials, such as our magazine, podcast, and recipe guides.

We advocate for traditionally
under-represented populations in healthcare on a regional and national scale.
