Barbara Warady, MS RD LD
Barbara Warady, MS, RD, LD received her Bachelor of Arts in dance education from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Barbara returned to college to pursue a career in nutrition and dietetics, and was awarded a Master of Science Degree from the University of Kansas, Kansas City, KS. She worked at Kaiser Permanente in Denver, CO with responsibilities of providing clinical care to individuals of all ages. Returning to the Kansas City area, Barbara was employed at the University of Kansas Medical Center – Child Development Unit, to work with children having special health care needs, including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. In her work, she provided medical nutrition therapy and conducted research on osteoporosis and the growth and development of children with this diagnosis. In addition, she taught basic nutrition to nursing students at Avila College in Kansas City, and has served as a nutrition consultant for a pediatric practice in the area. Over the past 11 years, Barbara has been employed at Children’s Mercy Kansas, offering nutrition services in an outpatient clinical setting, and is a team member of the Children’s Mercy’s Comprehensive Food Allergy Clinic.
